🆕 4.12 Creating House Bill of Lading (HBL)

The House Bill of Lading (HBL) can be created from a confirmed Master Bill of Lading (MBL). This section outlines the steps to generate an HBL and record all necessary shipment details.

🔹 Accessing the HBL Creation Screen

Once the MBL has been confirmed, follow these steps:

  • Navigate to the confirmed MBL entry from the Confirmed BL tab.

  • On the right side of the screen, click the “House BL” button.

  • A pop-up window will appear to begin the HBL creation process.

📝 Entering Basic HBL Details

In the pop-up window:

  • BL Number:
     Enter the unique HBL number in the “BL Number” field.

  • The following details will be auto-fetched from the MBL and displayed:
     • Port of Loading (POL)
     • Port of Discharge (POD)
     • Container Details

  • After verifying the information, click “Submit”.

This creates a new HBL record with the entered HBL number and places it in the Pending BL Confirm stage.


🔍 Viewing and Editing HBL Details

From the Pending BL Confirm tab, select the newly created HBL to view and fill in additional details.

The following information will be auto-populated from the MBL:

  • Booking Party

  • Port of Loading (POL)

  • Port of Discharge (POD)

  • Liner and Vessel Details

  • Voyage Number and ETA/ETD

  • Container and Cargo Configuration

👥 Filling Party Information

You must fill in the Party Details section manually:

Click “+ ADD” and provide details for:

  • Shipper

  • Consignee

  • Notify Party

  • (Other parties as required)

If the party is not available in the dropdown, enter the details manually. These will be saved to the Customer Master for future use.

📋 Additional Shipment Information

Under the Additional Information tab, enter the following:

  • Cargo Description: Describe the goods included in the HBL.

  • Marks and Numbers: Provide package identifiers and marks.

  • Comments: Add any other shipment-related notes or remarks.


📎 Attachments

Scroll to the Attachments section:

  • Click “+ ADD” to select the attachment type.

  • Upload supporting documents (e.g., invoice, HBL copy, cargo declaration).

🗒️ Notes Section

Add specific notes related to the HBL:

  • Click “+ ADD”

  • Select the note type and enter the description

  • Click Save


✅ Finalizing the HBL

Once all required fields are filled and verified:

  • Click “Create”

The HBL will be saved with all details from the MBL and additional HBL-specific updates. The status will remain in Pending BL Confirm until it is finalized.
