The Charge Owner Definition module allows users to assign ownership of charges (e.g., Freight, Documentation, Handling) to either a Principal or an Agency. This ensures proper allocation of revenues and costs based on the selected applicability from the Charge Master.
User Role: Admin, Agency User, or Operations Manager
Access: Charge Master & Charge Owner Definition privileges
Navigate to the Zealit System login page.
Enter your username and password.
From the left-side ribbon or the search bar, open Charge Owner Definition.
Access the Charge Owner Definition screen by:
Using the Search icon, or
Clicking ‘Open Charge Owner’ from the pop-up screen.
In the Charge Owner window, fill in the following details:
BL Type: Select 'SOC'
Charge Code: Auto-fetched selected code
Applicability: Auto-fetched from Charge Master
Applicability At: Select from dropdown
Charge Owner: Principal or Agency
Owner Code:
Not required for Principal
If Agency, select from dropdown
Valid From / Valid Till: Enter applicable dates
Click SAVE to create the charge owner for the selected charge code.
Note:
If Applicability in the Charge Master = Line, it displays as SLSS-Jea.
If Applicability = Agency, select the agency from the Applicability At dropdown.
Defined Values:
BL Type: SOC
Charge Code: FRT (Freight)
Applicability: Line (fetched from Charge Master)
Applicability At: SLSS-JEA
Charge Owner: Agency
Owner Code: JEA Agency (selected from dropdown)
Valid From: 01/01/2025
Valid Till: 31/12/2025
Explanation:
A charge owner is defined for Freight (FRT) with Applicability set as Line. Since the Charge Owner is an Agency, the agency SLSS-JEA is selected from the dropdown. The ownership is valid from 01 Jan 2025 to 31 Dec 2025.
System Result:
Whenever Freight charges are applied under this setup, ownership will be attributed to the selected Agency (SLSS-JEA) for the defined validity period.
