1. Introduction

The LCL Charge Calculation process in Zealit enables accurate and automated charge computation for Less than Container Load (LCL) shipments based on Per CBM or Per KGS charge basis.
This functionality ensures consistency between container data maintained in the Bill of Lading (BL) and the charges raised during invoicing, thereby eliminating manual discrepancies.

2. System Prerequisites

• Applicable Module: COC – Manage Shipment

• Shipment Type: LCL

• User Access:

  • Operations User

  • Finance / Billing User

• BL Status: Draft / Confirmed (with conditions)

3. Accessing the LCL Charge Functionality

1. Log in to ZEALIT ERP.

2. Navigate to COC Manage Shipment.

3. Open the required Bill of Lading (BL).

4. Move to the Rate and Cost tab.

5. Select the appropriate Charge Basis.
   
   

4. LCL Charge Calculation Logic

4.1 Charge Basis Selection

When either of the following charge bases is selected in COC Manage Shipment, two additional fields become visible:

• Quantity

• Rate per Quantity

Applicable Charge Bases:

• Per CBM
  
  

• Per KGS
  
  

4.2 Quantity Auto-Fetch Rules

The Quantity field is system-driven and auto-populated based on the charge basis selected.

Per CBM

• Quantity is derived from the total CBM of all containers linked to the BL.
  
  

Per KGS

• Quantity is derived from the total Gross Weight of all containers linked to the BL.
  
  

This value is fetched directly from the container details maintained at the BL level and is not manually editable.

4.3 Rate per Quantity

• The Rate per Quantity field allows the user to enter the applicable rate.

• Final charge amount is calculated as:

Charge Amount = Quantity × Rate per Quantity

4.4 Refreshing Quantity

In situations where container details are modified after charge creation, the system provides a controlled recalculation mechanism.

Refresh Logic:

1. Navigate to Rate and Cost tab.

2. Click the Refresh button.

3. The system re-fetches:

   • Updated CBM (for Per CBM)

   • Updated Gross Weight (for Per KGS)

4. Quantity field is updated automatically based on the latest container data.
   
   

This ensures data integrity without requiring charge re-entry.

If the BL is in Confirmed status, direct modification of charges is restricted.

Resolution Mechanism: 

• Use BL Charge Corrector to make the required adjustments.

• All recalculations and corrections must be performed through this screen to maintain audit control.
