The Transport Rental Contract module is designed to manage rental agreements related to transport operations. It plays a crucial role in detention and demurrage charge automation by defining truck-specific conditions, timing slabs, and charge codes. This setup enables automatic calculation of charges when transport jobs are executed.
User Role: Admin or Operations Executive with contract configuration access
Log into the Zealit system using your credentials.
Navigate to the Transport Rental Contract screen using the left panel or by searching for it from the top-left search bar.
Use the left navigation or the top search bar to open the Transport Rental Contract screen.
Existing contracts can be viewed through the available tabs.
Click on Create New.
Enter details including:
Truck Type
Validity Period (Start and End Date)
Applicable Date Range for the contract
Add Start Activity and End Activity. These activities are used to trigger detention calculation from the Transport Order screen.
Define slabs in terms of hours to calculate charge duration.
Assign a Charge Code (e.g., Detention) that will be used during charge calculation.
Use the Calculate Demurrage button to perform manual calculation for the contract.
This module can also be used to configure other charge types for transport jobs beyond detention.
When automation is enabled, calculations will be triggered automatically on an hourly or daily basis as configured.
Important: The contract must be created before initiating a Transport Job for the detention calculation to be applicable.

Can I use this module for non-detainment charges?
Yes, you can define other charge codes for different purposes.
Is the demurrage calculation fully automatic?
Only if automation is configured. Otherwise, you must manually use the Calculate Demurrage button.
Do I need to create a new contract for each truck type?
Yes, contracts are truck-type specific.
